A team of VM+SD editors and their hand-picked panel of industry designers combed GlobalShop to select the booths in The Store Fixturing Show and The Visual Merchandising Show that best combined cutting-edge design with interesting new products.
Working with the magazine staff — associate publisher Carole Winters, editor Steve Kaufman, managing editor Pat Knapp and associate editors Jenny Schnetzer and Randi Holm-Bertelsen — were judges Christian Davies, of the Boston office of Fitch Inc. (Columbus, Ohio); Michael Bodziner, Gensler (San Francisco); David Kepron, Kepron Architect (Englewood, N.J.); and Steve Wierzbowski, WDW Design (Chicago).
Criteria were style, creativity and integration of booth design with the products. Following are descriptions of the winning booths: one Grand Prize and three Awards of Merit in each of the two shows.
