2006 IALD Lighting Design Awards

The 2006 International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) Lighting Design Awards were bestowed during the 23rd annual Lighting Design Awards Presentation, held in conjunction with Lightfair International, in Las Vegas.

Established in 1983 and co-sponsored by Professional Lighting Design magazine, the IALD Lighting Design Awards program honors lighting projects that display high aesthetic achievement backed by technical expertise. This year’s entries included the submission of 160 projects representing 16 countries. Twenty-three projects were recognized with awards this year.

The Radiance Award for Excellence in Lighting Design, the program’s highest award, was presented to Paul Gregory of Focus Lighting (New York) for the retail/entertainment project Tourneau.

Andrew Sedgwick and Arfon Davies of Arup Lighting (London) won the first IALD Sustainable Design Award for the High Museum of Art, which was first recognized as an Award of Excellence and then judged in the sustainable design category.
