The Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas strip (formerly the Aladdin) has a fresh look, a redesigned mall and a new high-tech spot for visitors to score some java. The Planet Dailies Coffee shop surrounds casino-goers with sports, news, entertainment and daily specials on its 50 digital screens from Panasonic (Secaucus, N.J.).

“The monitors are strategically placed so diners can catch breaking news, entertainment reports or events from anywhere in the restaurant,” says Robert Earl, owner of Planet Hollywood Intl. Inc. “The system allows us to create and deliver our own messaging and as we learn more about our customers, we can target the content toward their interests.”

Displays range in size from 32 to 60 inches and are controlled and programmed using Panasonic’s retailTV software and NMStage, a scheduling and content distribution system.
