Abercrombie Bringing Kids Unit to Fifth Avenue

Taking over Hickey Freeman’s vacated space
Posted May 14, 2009

Abercrombie & Fitch will introduce its abercrombie kids’ division at 666 Fifth Avenue, in the 4300-square-foot space being vacated by Hickey Freeman.

The long-term menswear tenant is vacating the space at the end of the month as its bankrupt parent company, Hartmarx Corp., tries to raise cash.

abercrombie was slated to take over the former Brooks Brothers space, also at 666 Fifth Avenue, but chose the Hickey unit because it has 13 more feet of frontage and 1000 square feet of additional selling space. An Abercrombie & Fitch flagship is located at 720 Fifth Avenue.
