Palo Alto structure to feature curved glass roof
Construction is set to begin this month on a two-story Apple prototype store in downtown Palo Alto, Calif., reports the Mercury News.
The glass and stone structure will be located about a block away from an existing Apple store. Architectural firm Bohlin Cywinski Jackson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa.) which has completed work on other Apple stores, is working on the project. Design details include a curved glass roof, which will allow natural light to flood the 15,030-square-foot store, according to the Mercury News article.
“The intention of this store is to provide a large open retail area that is visible from outside,” Palo Alto planning manager Steven Turner told the Mercury News. “That's what makes this store unique.”
