Apple (Cupertino, Calif.) has renovated its flagship store on London’s Regent Street, which is set to reopen Saturday, Oct. 15. The renovation was done by Foster + Partners (London) and will feature the retailer’s new store format. This will be the first store in Europe to feature the new design, which will eventually be rolled out to all the other stores on the continent.

Part of the new store design is allowing each location to have some personality of its own and reflect the local area where it is situated. For instance, with the Regent Street store, grand arches were exposed and a large hall created by removing part of the mezzanine level. It also features twin staircases with handrails carved from the store’s stone walls, is home to 12 Ficus alii trees and, according to Wallpaper*, also the world’s longest luminous ceiling panel.
