Bar Louie Restaurants has been purchased by an affiliate of private investment firm Sun Capital Partners Inc. (Boca Raton, Fla.). Terms of the purchase from Restaurant America were not disclosed, according to Business Wire.
Launched in Chicago in 1991, Bar Louie has grown into 36 locations and 7 franchised units nationwide, including Pittsburgh, Pa.; Columbus, Ohio; Foxborough, Mass.; Washington, D.C.; Tampa; and six in Chicago.
“Bar Louie is a wonderful restaurant and bar concept,” says Anthony Polazzi, principal at Sun Capital Partners. “We look forward to working with management on strengthening its current market position and further differentiate the chain in the casual to upscale market segment while staying true to the brand.”
The company’s plans include taking the concept to new locations.
In addition to Bar Louie Restaurants, Sun Capital’s affiliated restaurant portfolio includes Boston Market, Bruegger's, Captain D’s, Fazoli's Restaurants, Friendly’s, Garden Fresh, Restaurants Unlimited, Smokey Bones Barbeque & Grill and Souper Salad.
