The Union Way retail corridor comes to Portland, Ore.

Published

on

It’s not quite a pop-up, not quite a mall. In Portland, Ore., the Union Way retail corridor comprises two back-to-back, one-story, mid-block buildings connected through openings in their shared back walls. Many retailers along the walkway had once been connected, but were later walled off, closing a series of passageways that is now reopened. Team members from Lever Architecture (Portland, Ore.) formed a continuous interior/exterior pathway by erecting partitions and two full-height walls.
