Barnes & Noble Names New Vp and Chief Digital Officer

Frederic Argir moves from Toys “R” Us

Barnes & Noble Inc. (New York) has named Frederic Argir as its new vp and chief digital officer, replacing Mahesh Veerina, president of Nook consumer business, who will depart Feb. 1, 2016.

Retailing Today reports that Argir will assume responsibility for e-commerce and Nook businesses.

Argir previously held the chief digital officer role at Toys “R” Us (Wayne, New Jersey). He also served as cio for The Sports Authority Inc. (Englewood, Colo.), as well as a consultant to Best Buy (Richfield, Minn.) and vp of supply chain development for Target Corp. (Minneapolis).
