Italian clothing retailer Benetton Group SpA (Rome) announced that ceo Gerolamo Caccia Dominioni will depart in April after nearly three years with the company, according to The Wall Street Journal. A former Warner Music Group executive, Dominioni joined Benetton in 2007, succeeding Silvano Cassano, who resigned as over a dispute with the Benetton family.
The company has proposed that Franco Furno and Biagio Chiarolanza jointly run the company, with Furno heading the commercial, product and human units while Chiarolanza will run the administration, finance, operations and foreign business departments, reports The Journal.
In financial news, the company’s net profit for 2009 dropped to $166.5 million from $211.6 million a year earlier, as sales declined 3.7 percent. The company has forecast first quarter sales for 2010 to be in line with last year.
