MANAGEMENT CHANGES

Design consultancy Fitch (Columbus, Ohio) announced four new hires. Stephen Jay has been hired as director of strategy, North America, responsible for the design and execution of marketing research and strategy projects. Craig Kavicky returns to Fitch as director, business development, North America. Teren Muchoney has been hired as a client manager. And Andrea Buccasso joins the company as environmental designer.

Target veteran Sally Mueller, who left Target in June, has launched Mueller Marketing LLC, a consultancy that specializes in retail and brand innovation. Mueller worked for the mass retail chain for 24 years, most recently as director of design partnerships.

STORE OPENINGS

Giant Eagle Inc. has opened an 83,600-square-foot supermarket at Townfair Center in Indiana, Pa., which is owned by Cedar Shopping Centers Inc. (Port Washington, N.Y).

Darden Restaurants Inc. (Orlando, Fla.) has opened a 7,400-square-foot LongHorn Steakhouse in Castleton, Ind.

BUSINESS BRIEFS

Chipotle Mexican Grill is working on an Asian restaurant concept that follows the Chipotle model. The company plans to open one Asian-inspired restaurant in 2011.

City Sports (Boston) will open a Washington, D.C., flagship retail store in Georgetown next month. The store is the company's fourth in the District area and its 18th store in the Northeast.
