Circuit City Postpones Store Openings

Timeline pushed back while store concept is fine tuned

Circuit City (Richmond, Va.) has been planning to revive the brand as a retail chain of brick-and-mortar stores but has recently pushed its timeline back.

The company is waiting to open physical stores while it fine tunes its store concept. To that end, it has hired “generational consultants” to provide insights. It also has increased the expected size of the stores from 4000 square feet in size to 20,000 square feet, which is about the same size that some of the original Circuit City stores measured.

Originally, the company planned to open a flagship store in Dallas, but that has not yet opened, reports Consumerist.
