PROMOTIONS/APPOINTMENTS/RETIREMENTS

Best Buy Co. Inc. (Richfield, Minn.), a consumer electronics retailer, has appointed Lisa Caputo to its board of directors. Caputo is executive vp, global marketing and corporate affairs, at Citigroup Inc. and chairman and ceo of Citi’s Women & Co.

Jones Apparel Group Inc. (New York), a designer, marketer, wholesaler and retailer of branded apparel, footwear and accessories, has promoted Stacy Lastrina to chief marketing officer.

Burlington Coat Factory (Burlington, N.J.), a discount retailer of branded apparel, has appointed Jay Margolis to its board. Margolis most recently served as ceo of Limited Corp.

Arden Group Inc. (Los Angeles), parent company of the Gelson’s Markets grocery chain, has promoted Laura Neumann to cfo.

The Wet Seal Inc. (Foothills Ranch, Calif.) a specialty retailer of apparel and accessories for young women, announced that chairman Alan Siegel has retired from the company’s board of directors, effective immediately. Director Harold Kahn has been named Siegel’s successor.

Schawk Inc. (Des Plaines, Ill.), a provider of brand-point management services, has named Chris Plewes chief creative officer.

Schréder Lighting USA (Elk Grove Village, Ill.) will open its new manufacturing facilities in Addison, Ill., in early January.

Renaissance Lighting (Herndon, Va.), a developer of LED downlights, has upgraded its web site, www.renaissancelighting.com, to include more product information and photography, an installation showcase and case studies section, and a manufacturer’s rep and distributors directory.
