Dolce & Gabbana began introducing its new makeup line, developed with Procter & Gamble (Cincinnati), in Milan last week.
Dolce & Gabbana The Makeup, which will include $59 foundation, $30 lipstick and $44 rouge in gold-toned packaging, will be sold at luxury retailer Saks Fifth Avenue. “[The line] is for the rich and not rich,” Stefano Gabbana told The Wall Street Journal.
The fashion house, which operates 15 U.S. boutiques, sees its foray into cosmetics as a way to reach a broader audience. For P&G, which produces the CoverGirl and Max Factor brands, it’s the company’s first luxury line. The partnership began three years ago when the two companies collaborated to produce fragrances.
