Expansion will include new markets in California and Massachusetts

Discount retailer Dollar General Corp. (Goodlettsville, Tenn.) plans to open 625 stores in 38 states in 2012, reports the Knoxville News Sentinel. Some of those openings will mark the retailer’s entrance into California and Massachusetts.
In addition to new locations, the company plans to remodel or relocate 550 stores and open a distribution center in California.
Dollar General has reported three straight years of growth.
