Michael MacDonald most recently served with Shopko Stores

DSW Inc. (Columbus, Ohio) has named Michael MacDonald as president and ceo of the footwear warehouse chain. MacDonald replaces Jay Schottenstein, who will retain his role of chairman.
With more than 30 years in the retail industry, MacDonald most recently served as chairman and ceo of Shopko Stores. His career also includes stops at Saks Inc., Carson Pirie Scott, Marshall Field’s and Dayton Hudson Department Stores.
"Mike is a results-driven leader with a substantial breadth of experience in the retail industry," says Schottenstein. "His strong background and leadership skills will serve us well in our continued growth of the DSW brand."
DSW operates 300 stores in 37 states.
