Occupies former West Hollywood home

Greg Chait, founder and owner of luxe cashmere lifestyle brand The Elder Statesman (Los Angeles), has opened his first bricks-and-mortar store. The 1600-square-foot West Hollywood unit, located off the western stretch of Melrose Avenue, includes a 1600-square-foot wrap-around patio and is framed by the Pacific Design Center, according to Women’s Wear Daily.

“We tore through three driveways, rebuilt the foundation and replaced everything,” said Chait, who completed the renovation with help from contractor Loren Crawford, his employees and Commune design firm. He funded the project with an investment he received from Chrome Hearts earlier this year.

The white stucco structure was outfitted with a copper roof and drain pipes; alder wood floors, doors and window frames; copper-clad domed skylights; succulent landscaping; and a stone paver-lined courtyard with built-in wooden seating that invites not only shoppers, but also hanger-outers, reports WWD.
