Temple-Inland Forest Products Corp. (Diboll, Texas, wood product manufacturer) has been awarded certification by Scientific Certification Systems for manufacturing products using recovered and recycled materials. The certification covers Temple's Ultra MDF(tm), Ultra Lite(r) and Solidium(tm) products. Additionally, four of Temple's plants (in Clairon and Mt. Jewett, Pa., El Dorado, Ark., and Pembroke, Ont.) have been certified as using at least 90 to 100 percent recovered or recycled wood fiber in MDF products.

Econoco Corp. (Hicksville, N.Y., store fixture supplier) has opened a warehouse distribution center in Hazleton, Pa. The facility is intended to accelerate delivery timeframes and lower delivery costs.Store Openings/New Contracts:

Illuminating Experiences (Highland Park, N.J., lighting designer) has merged with Il America (Hamden, Conn.) to form Illuminating Experiences LLC. The new company is a subsidiary of Nemo S.p.A. of Rovellasca, Italy, which is part of Gruppo Cassina, a leading Italian furniture manufacturer. The former owners of Illuminating Experiences will manage the new company in Highland Park; the Il America offices and warehouse will be closed.
