Fresh, an upscale bath and beauty retailer, prides itself on the individuality of its locations. Designers Hacin and Associates Inc. (Boston) opted to stray from the typical warm atmosphere seen in most "body shops" and go for a clean, open feel at the retailer's third location -- in New York's NoLita neighborhood.
The store's immaculate appearance -- provided by white walls and shelves, white, 1960s-style light fixtures and furniture -- sets it apart from its urban surroundings. Designers strove to provide a clean-looking environment without a clinical feel.
