Fuzio Universal Bistro, owned by Modesto, Calif.-based Calmex Inc., has opened a 3000-square-foot restaurant in Fremont. The location serves to bridge the gap between casual dining and fast casual by providing quick table service and diverse food at reasonable prices.

"You can be in and out in less than a half hour, or you can take your time with a bottle of wine or one of our special martinis,” says Allen Beebe, owner of Fuzio Universal Bistro. “You can have all types of experiences at Fuzio."

There are 10 Fuzio Universal Bistros in California, Missouri and Nevada. Fuzio first opened its doors in San Francisco's Castro district in 1996.

The restaurant, known for its Firecracker Pork Fusilli also serves an expanded line of spicy dishes, including Firecracker Lettuce Wraps and Firecracker Slyders, as well as bistro fare, such as Shanghai Noodles with lemon grass and red curry; Blue Cheese Chicken Salad with Fuji apples and Caramelized Mushroom Linguine.
