Largest U.S. store to offer bigger view of the brand
Guess Inc. will become the latest addition to the bourgeoning retail scene below 52nd Street in Manhattan in December when it opens its largest U.S. store at Fifth Avenue and 47th Street.
Guess Inc. vice chairman and chief executive officer Paul Marciano told Women’s Wear Daily that the new store will offer shoppers a window into the brand, with 142 feet of frontage on Fifth Avenue. The two-level, 13,000-square-foot flagship will utilize mirrored surfaces, metal mesh on windows and iconic images from past ad campaigns, in addition to a three-story glass atrium.
The store will feature shop-in-shops for watches and jewelry, along with shops for shoes and handbags, and will separate Guess by Marciano into its own area. Mannequins standing on ledges will portrude from a floor-to-ceiling sculpture, but Marciano says the mannequins will look like “women who are women and not the skinny stick models I’m not really a fan of.”
Other Guess products, including eyewear, jewelry, belts, outerwear and men's bags, will also be sold, along with a considerable amount of space dedicated to men's and women's jeans.
