Digital technologies enhance customer experience, service

Harvey Nichols (London) has reopened its 45,000-square-foot store located in Birmingham, England. According to Women’s Wear Daily, the store was remodeled to feel more like a large boutique as well as to incorporate more digital technologies.

Digital offerings that were added include a 39-foot-long LED tunnel at the store’s entrance, wireless checkout stations for purchases and one fitting room that's outfitted with a camera in the mirror so customers can take and view photographs of themselves in a specific outfit.

The retailer remodeled using a variety of materials; intentionally juxtaposing concrete beside marble, for instance. The store also features an in-house wine store and various concierge services for parking, delivering purchases to vehicles and stowing coats while customers shop.
