MANAGEMENT CHANGES

J. Crew (New York) has promoted Jenna Lyons to president and executive creative director, J.Crew Group Inc., replacing Tracy Gardner, who announced she will resign in September. In connection with the management changes, Libby Wadle will become executive vp, retail and factory.

GE Lighting (Cleveland) has appointed Jaime Irick to head its GE Lighting Solutions division. As president and ceo, Irick will be responsible for driving the development, growth and management of GE's global LED product business for the household and professional market segments. In addition, Brian Sroub was hired to the newly created global role of chief marketing officer for GE Lighting.

Häfele America Co. (Archdale, N.C.) has hired José Guaty as export sales manager, overseeing Caribbean and Florida based export sales.

Merchandising Technologies Incorporated (MTI, Hillsboro, Ore., provider of interactive merchandising solutions) has appointed Michael Highland to chief financial officer.

Reeve Store Equipment Co. (Pico Rivera, Calif.) has added Scott Berry to its team. Berry’s career started in the fashion industry and led to his starting his own fixturing company, Rightline Industries Inc., in Glendora, Calif.

STORE OPENING

Seattle-based Nordstrom Inc. plans to open a Nordstrom Rack in Sunset Valley, Texas, in spring 2011. The 34,040 square-foot store will be part of the Sunset Valley Village shopping center.

Atrezzo (Barcelona, Spain) provided more than 100 mannequins as part of the 6th edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion Concept show.

Triad (St Louis) has received certification from NSF International stating the company can manufacture equipment custom built in compliance with NSF/ANSI Standard 2 - Food Equipment in its St. Louis facility.

Interior design and architecture firm TSC Design Associates Inc. (New York) is celebrating its 15th anniversary.

WAC Lighting (New York) has opened offices in Shanghai and Beijing to expand its sales and marketing efforts in Asia and other markets abroad. Zengkai Dai, president of WAC Lighting (Shanghai) Company Ltd., will head up the office.

AWARDS

LIM College (New York) has won two awards for the design of Maxwell Hall, one of the four buildings in midtown Manhattan in which the college is housed. Maxwell Hall, which was expanded and renovated by Marner Architecture in 2009, has been recognized with an Outstanding Design award from American School & University (AS&U) magazine, as well as an award for design excellence in the New York chapter of the International Interior Design Association’s 2010 Lester Dundes Interior Design Competition.

Los Angeles-based Narduli Studio received first place awards in interior design and graphic design at the second annual International Design Awards for Studio 1452. The Studio - the West Coast headquarters for the KMS and Goldwell hair care brands - brings together three functions under one roof: hair salon, training academy and West Coast headquarters.
