Canadian apparel brand Joe Fresh (Toronto) is joining up with U.S. department store operator JCPenney (Plano, Texas) to open nearly 700 dedicated Joe Fresh shops inside newly renovated JCPenney stores across the U.S.

The rollout is expected to begin in April 2013 with shops designed by the Joe Fresh team ranging in size from 1000 to 2500 square feet. The retail debut will focus on women's apparel. In conjunction, additional Joe Fresh products will be available online at JCPenney’s website.

"We are extremely proud to partner with one of America's most iconic department stores, especially as they embark on a retail transformation headed by visionary ceo Ron Johnson," says Joe Mimran, creative director of the Joe Fresh brand for Loblaw Cos. Ltd. "JCPenney is creating a fun and engaging shopping experience that showcases sought-after brands in its own dedicated space, providing the perfect environment to introduce Joe Fresh apparel to even more Americans, coast to coast."

Adds JCPenney ceo Ron Johnson, “The Joe Fresh shops will be an important part of our repositioning to a completely re-imagined department store."

The exclusive Joe Fresh shops will have the same clean, simple design consistent with existing Joe Fresh stand-alone locations, including the brand's signature orange logo and colorful campaign imagery.

Part of Canadian food retailer Loblaw Cos. Ltd., the Joe Fresh brand operates in more than 300 locations across Canada, including 12 standalone and studio stores, and six U.S. locations in New York and New Jersey.
