Jones Apparel Names Executive of Branded Businesses

Richard Dickson will serve as division president and ceo

Jones Apparel Group Inc. (New York) has appointed Richard Dickson to president and ceo – branded businesses. Concurrent with this appointment, president and ceo Wesley Card's title will change to ceo.

Dickson will report directly to Card and will be responsible for management of the company's wholesale and retail businesses worldwide.

"Richard has a proven record of success and brings extensive marketing and retail experience from a wide range of industries,” says Card. “We are excited to welcome him to our company given his achievements in breathing life and new relevancy to iconic brands.”

Dickson’s career includes general management and merchandising experience with such global companies as Mattel Inc., Bloomingdale’s and Estee Lauder Companies. Most recently, he was general manager and senior vp, Barbie Mattel Inc. Prior to joining Mattel in 2000, Dickson had a 10-year career at Bloomingdale’s, holding a variety of positions before launching Gloss.com, an e-commerce beauty website he helped build. Gloss.com was acquired by Estee Lauder Companies in 2000 and Dickson was appointed vp of brand management and merchandising for Estee Lauder Companies’ online business.
