Kmart Names New Store Ops Executive

David Montoya will head all aspects, reporting directly to Mark Schwartz

David Montoya, a 20-year retail veteran with experience at Wal-Mart Super Centers, Big V, Hechinger's/Builder's Square and HEB Grocery Co., has been named executive vp, store operations, at Kmart (Troy, Mich.), effective immediately. He will be responsible for all aspects of store operations for Kmart's more than 2100 retail outlets and will report directly to Kmart president and coo MarkSchwartz.

“David Montoya is a first class retail leader,” said Schwartz. “His experience will be instrumental in helping Kmart achieve our goal as a world-class retailer.”

In related moves, Kmart promoted Lee Viliborghi to senior vp, Northwest Division, and hired Gregg Treadway as senior vp, Midwest Division. Both will report to Montoya. Viliborghi, a 30-year Kmart veteran, was most recently the regional vp in the Denver Region. Treadway, who comes to Kmart from Dollar General, has also worked for AutoZone and Wal-Mart Stores.
