Stores to carry exclusive footwear products
Kohl’s Corp. (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) is joining with Aldo Intl. to offer an exclusive footwear line to be sold at Kohl’s and Kohls.com under select private and exclusive brands. Aldo will design and produce the line, which is a first for both Kohl’s and Aldo.
The range of footwear products will be available in Spring 2011 and include women’s and men’s lines, including dress and casual.
“Bringing this level of design to our exclusive and private brand portfolio in footwear allows us to increase the value proposition to our customer and delivers on our commitment to offer world-class partnerships in each category,” says Don Brennan, senior executive vp, Kohl’s Department Stores.
The moderate-price, specialty department store has been focusing on adding private and exclusive brand labels to its portfolio, which accounted for 47 percent of sales in the first quarter of 2010.
Through the multi-year agreement, Aldo Intl. will be responsible for the design and production and will have a dedicated design team on the business. Kohl’s will collaborate on the design process.
