Geoffrey Covert will oversee retail operations
The Kroger Co. (Cincinnati) has hired Geoffrey Covert as senior vp of retail operations, starting in 2011. Covert succeeds Paul Scutt, who announced his retirement in November.
Covert joined Kroger in 1996 and has served as president of the Cincinnati/Dayton division for the past six years. Before joining Kroger, he worked for 22 years in a number of management positions at Procter & Gamble.
In his new position, he will be responsible for the company’s programs and processes focused on operating efficiency, store productivity and associate and customer safety.
Kroger operates more than 2400 supermarkets and multidepartment stores in 31 states.
