Lexus of West Kendal

ISP/VM+SD Design Competition Winner

Lexus, Toyota’s luxury brand, typically sells its cars in opulent dealership environments. That strategy is on spectacular display at the Lexus of West Kendal dealership in Miami. Inspired by the oval form of the Lexus logo, Pavlik Design Team created a building shape that’s visually striking outside and in. The building, which won first place in the automotive retail category of the 2006 ISP/VM+SD International Store Design Competition, is set at an angle from the street, and features glass curtain walls that give passersby clear views into the space.

The inside, which houses 200,000 square feet of showroom space spread out over five floors, features a three-story entrance atrium and a curved rotunda that leads to a central “great room.” The latter space is lined with a series of decorative columns and has as its focal point a Lexus set like a diamond in an elegant chrome millwork display.
