Michael Witynski Named Dollar Tree Coo

Dollar Tree Inc. (Chesapeake, Va.) announced that Michael Witynski has been named the company’s new coo. Witynski will assume responsibility for the operations of all stores under the company’s Dollar Tree banner in the U.S., and all operations for Canada stores and properties.

Witynski started at Dollar Tree in 2010 as svp. He will report to current CEO Bob Sasser.

Retailing Today reports that Witynski joined Dollar Tree after a 29-year career in grocery chains. He previously worked in various executive positions for Shaw’s Supermarkets (West Bridgewater, Mass.) and Minneapolis-based Supervalu Inc.
