Microsoft and Barnes & Noble to Partner

New venture involves bookseller’s digital and college businesses

Electronics retailer Microsoft Corp. (Seattle) and book seller Barnes & Noble (New York) have teamed up together on B&N’s digital and college businesses. Microsoft is investing $300 million in the business, reports Reuters, and will get a 17.6 percent stake in the new business unit, while Barnes & Noble will own roughly 82.4 percent.

The new venture does not have an official name yet.
