Chilean women’s specialty apparel retailer MOR has taken a peekaboo approach to its store in Santiago’s Alto Las Condes mall. It leaves something to the imagination, displaying merchandise in a series of niches that reveal different areas to the customer as she wanders through the store.
“It’s a step-by-step way of showing product,” says Freddy Droguett, general director and architect at Droguett A&A Ltda., the Santiago firm responsible for MOR’s look. “The shopper should walk in and be able to discover.”
To play up the sensuality of the approach, Droguett selected elegant materials like velvet, leather, rich wood and silk in fitting rooms and throughout the various niches. Lighting is soft, featuring metal halide and halogen lamps.
