Fortune reports that the National Retail Federation’s (Washington, D.C.) Thanksgiving Weekend Survey results reveal that more consumers shopped online than in stores this year for Thanksgiving and Black Friday sales.

This is the first year that more shoppers have turned to online retail than brick-and-mortar locations. Early reports say that 103 million shoppers made purchases online, while 102 million were in stores for the weekend.

Fortune reports that up to 90 percent of all retail sales still take place in brick-and-mortar stores.
