Nordstrom Cutting 400 Jobs

In corporate and regional-support centers

Nordstrom (Seattle) is planning to cut up to 400 jobs. The positions that will be eliminated will be within its corporate headquarters as well as in regional support offices, and the layoffs will occur in waves until they are all completed later this year. The cuts are estimated to save the company $60 million during 2016 fiscal year.

The cuts are also part of an effort to give the company greater flexibility to respond and react to the changing retail environment. As such, the company has grown its technology group as well as its supply-chain and marketing departments, reports Luxury Daily.
