Off-price store lands at Simon’s Gateway Center

Nordstrom Inc. (Seattle) announced it will open a 35,000-square-foot Nordstrom Rack this fall at the Gateway Center in Austin, Texas. Nordstrom Rack is a unit of the fashion specialty retailer’s off-price retail division.
Gateway Center is an upscale community/lifestyle center on the northwest side of Austin that’s owned by Simon Properties Group. The Nordstrom Rack will be the first of that brand in the Austin area, and the fifth in the state. The company also operates seven Nordstrom full-line stores in Texas, and will open a new store at The Domain in Austin in fall 2012.
