Obituary: Bill McHenry of Elevations Inc.

VMSD regrets to announce that Bill McHenry, president and owner of Elevations Inc. (San Francisco), passed away at his home Thursday, Jan. 15. 

Prior to founding Elevations Inc. in 1990, McHenry acquired his experience and understanding of the visual merchandising industry working for Susan Crane (Dallas) as an account manager in both the visual merchandising and packaging divisions. Following his tenure at Susan Crane, he became national sales manager for Display Products Ltd. (Seattle).

McHenry was actively involved in the industry, serving as vice president and later as president of the Western Association of Visual Merchandising (WAVM), committee member of the Association for Retail Environments’ (A.R.E.) Retail Design Collective and a board member of the National Association of Display Industries (NADI).

McHenry and Elevations Inc. have been a supporter of the San Francisco AIDS Walk, Macy’s Passport, Project Inform and PAVE.

Elevations Inc. provides comprehensive import, design and distribution services to the retail world and is active in store fixturing as well as commercial and holiday decor.

In lieu of flowers, McHenry's colleagues are asking that those wanting to honor his memory send donations to the PAVE William McHenry Scholarship.

McHenry will be dearly missed by his family, friends and industry colleagues.
