Gap Inc. (San Francisco) brings its first Old Navy store to Japan, with an opening scheduled this week. The location marks the brand’s first shop outside of North America, Women’s Wear Daily reports.

“Our main target is families, specifically the fashion-conscious mother,” Gap Japan representative director and managing director Robert Frank told WWD.

The 10,000-square-foot Old Navy store is part of a large shopping mall on an island in Tokyo Bay, called Odaiba, joining Zara, Bershka, Hennes & Mauritz, Uniqlo, American Eagle, Forever 21 and Diesel.

Gap Inc. operates more than 150 stores in Japan under its Gap, Banana Republic, Gap Generation, factory store and outlet banners.
