Borders Group Inc. (Ann Arbor, Mich.), a retailer of books, music and video, has hired Michael Edwards as its executive vp, chief merchandising officer. The company also announced the departure of Anne Kubek, executive vp, merchandising and marketing.
Amerlux Global Lighting Solutions (Fairfield, N.J.), a manufacturer of architectural grade, energy-efficient lighting solutions, has hired Victor Kwong Kay Au as its territory sales application specialist based in Hong Kong.
Laticrete (Bethany, Conn.), a manufacturer of installation systems for tile and stone, has promoted Bernadette “Bernie” Anderson to regional sales manager, Oregon region.

Verizon (New York), a provider of broadband and other wireless and wireline communications services, has opened a FiOS Services Store in the Bronx, N.Y.

Patina-V (City of Industry, Calif.), a provider of mannequins, forms, decoratives, shop concepts and fixtures, has opened a permanent showroom in New York, at 7 W. 34th St., Suite 717.
Bulbrite (Moonachie, N.J.), a manufacturer and supplier of energy-efficient light source solutions, has opened a distribution center in Carrollton, Texas.
AWARDS
Beaulieu Commercial (Adairsville, Ga.), a carpet manufacturer, was honored with a 2009 Green Power Leadership Award by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency at the recent Green Power Leadership Awards ceremony in Atlanta.
Shelley Wang, president of WAC Lighting (Garden City, N.Y.) received Residential Lighting Magazine's Industry Leadership Award at the American Lighting Association’s recent annual conference in Palos Verdes, Calif.
