Minneapolis-based Stylmark Inc. added Mike Johnson to its sales team. Johnson will be responsible for managing some of the company’s key retail relationships as well as working with fixture manufacturers throughout the Midwest and Southeast.

Schawk Inc. (Chicago), a provider of brand development and deployment services, appointed Jim Lucas to the newly created position of executive vp, global insights and strategy. Lucas will be responsible for formalizing the company’s shopper marketing offering and driving insight and strategy across the organization.

Frank Mayer and Associates Inc.’s David Zoerb, senior vp, marketing, has announced his retirement effective, January 11, 2013.

Houston-based Pointsmith, a national at-store marketing company serving the retail, quick-serve restaurant and convenience/fuel retail industries, has hired Rick Garcia as chief information officer. In this role, Garcia is responsible for the management of all functions and staff within the IT/IS departments, development of long-term corporate growth strategies and enhanced technical communications within the business.

STORE OPENING

Saladworks (Conshohocken, Pa.), a fresh-tossed salad franchise concept, opens its first location in the state of Arizona this week. The new Scottsdale, Ariz., location will be the first to offer a selection of beer, wine and a full frozen yogurt bar in addition to the regular Saladworks menu.

Record-breaking attendance and sponsorships boosted proceeds of PAVE's 16th Annual Gala to over the $150,000 mark – a record amount that will enable PAVE to continue its support of retail design education. YCD Multimedia, a New York-based provider of smart digital signage solutions, announced a partnership with Primeview, a provider of advanced digital displays.

The Great American Hanger Company/Hangers.com (Miami, Fla.) has been acquired by International Hanger (Austin, Texas), a provider of custom clothes hangers to major retailers, high-profile designer brands and hotels, including Macy’s, Ralph Lauren, Omni and Hilton. As part of the agreement, The Great American Hanger Company’s employees and business office in Miami are now part of International Hanger.

Cincinnati-based KDM P.O.P. Solutions Group has purchased the assets of Digital Flexo Services LLC (Norcross, Ga.), a small format digital printing company with flexographic printing and finishing capabilities. The addition of DFS expands KDM’s offerings to include pressure sensitive products across multiple p-o-p markets. The assets of DFS will reside at the existing KDM Atlanta location in Norcross, Ga.

Volumatic, a manufacturer of intelligent cash handling solutions for the retail banking and leisure industries, has partnered with Essintial Enterprise Solutions to support its fast-growing customer base of cash processing products in North America. Essintial will provide Volumatic with customer support, depot repair, warranty chain management, warehousing and distribution, field service and critical inventory management.
