Most retailers – including Macy’s Inc. and Amazon.com Inc. – saw their shares rise on Monday, reports Thomson Reuters.

Retailers that held sales late on Thanksgiving or at midnight faired better than those who did not, including JC Penney Co. and Sears Holding Corp.

Good weather conditions also encouraged shoppers to spend money. This year’s Black Friday weekend was the warmest in five years, according to weather research company Planalytics Inc.

"I presume we're going to see strong numbers for November," says Sterne, Agee & Leach analyst Kenneth Stumphauzer, in a Reuters article.

Analysts expect November same-store sales to rise 3.3 percent among 23 U.S. chains that issue tallies, according to Reuters.
