As you continue trying to get a handle on the various generations you must target – boomer, X, Y, Z – a research group in Wisconsin has given you another one to ponder. It's the “Millennial” generation, which includes anyone under 18.

Among their characteristics, according to the Department of Institutional Research at Beloit College, their historical markers are Columbine, Oklahoma City, Princess Diana, O.J. and Monica. And their view of the world includes the following:

á A 45 is a gun, not a small record with a hole in the middle.á Telephone have always been purchased, never rented.á Navy ships have always had women.á Going to school poses a greater danger than the threat of nuclear war.
