Does a bowl of pineapple-basil rice pudding whet your appetite? How about Pistachio-sage? These are just some of the flavors available at Rice to Riches, one of the first (and possibly only) rice pudding parlors, in New York.

Owner Peter Moceo thinks a lot about rice pudding at his store, located on Spring Street between Mott and Mulberry. It even influenced the design. Both the glass entrance and main counter are shaped like giant grains of rice. An orange and white palette and flat screen televisions create a modern vibe. Tables hang from the ceiling inside a booth space, where guests can sit to enjoy their treats.

Moceo even created specially designed dishes to match the flavors, such as green containers for lime and pistachio dishes.
