Same-store sales increase 2.9 percent for month
Rite Aid Corp. (Camp Hill, Pa.) same-store sales grew 2.9 percent in October and front-end same store sales increased 1.3 percent. Pharmacy same store sales were up 3.6 percent.
The retailer’s total drugstore sales for the four-week period increased 2.8 percent to $1.962 billion compared to $1.909 billion for the same period last year.
For the year, same-store sales are up 1.6 percent, consisting of a 1.1 percent front-end same store sales increase and a 1.9 percent increase in pharmacy same store sales.
Rite Aid is one of the nation’s largest drugstore chains with 4688 stores.
