San Francisco location earns platinum level
Sephora’s Stonestown store has earned LEED certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. The company focused its efforts on energy, lighting, water and material use as well as incorporating a variety of other sustainable strategies to achieve platinum level certification.
“Sephora Stonestown’s LEED certification demonstrates tremendous green building leadership,” says Rick Fedrizzi, president, ceo and founding chair, U.S. Green Building Council. “The urgency of USGBC’s mission has challenged the industry to move faster and reach further than ever before, and Sephora Stonestown serves as a prime example with just how much we can accomplish.”
Among the green attributes are: low VOC paints; recycling 73 percent of construction waste; 25 percent energy savings under California Title 24 Energy Compliance; energy saving equipment and appliances; green housekeeping products; certified wood; high efficiency plumbing; and gondolas and linears using LED lighting and a percentage of recycled content in the fixtures/finishes
