Shoes of Prey Exits Nordstrom

Takes business back online

Published

on

Shoes of Prey (Santa Monica, Calif.) announced that it will be closing all of its bricks and mortar channels, including its outlets in Nordstrom (Seattle) stores, and return to solely being an online retailer.

The company had been testing physical outlets in Nordstrom stores and in the Australian department store David Jones (Sydney), as a way to build brand awareness and let customers test out the products in real life.

However, the company found that the costs for these offline outlets represented 25 percent of its cost base while only providing 15 percent of its sales, reports Power Retail. Consequently, going forward, the company will operate entirely online to reap the most profits.
