It’s no surprise that a business that spiffs up cars would want a spiffy space for itself. So, for its new home, Specialty Automotive Treatments hired Barranco/Gonzales Architecture (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and P2 Interiors (Coconut Creek, Fla.) to create a high-profile showroom that would dramatically display its car-customizing products and services.
“The objective was to create a one-of-a-kind showroom for people who like to express their individuality by customizing their cars,” says Ponch Herrera, P2’s president and creative director.
To that end, Barranco/Gonzalez Architecture populated the exterior sides of the two-level showroom with tall windows that give passersby a clear look at the accessorized cars and products inside. The building front features a stacked set of two windows, each of which houses a mesh-shade billboard promoting the company’s offerings. The billboard windows are imbedded in a ribbed façade that’s topped with a stylized sign bearing the company’s name and logo.
Inside, P2 created a 15,000-square-foot showroom that’s divided into a series of sleek and highly polished zones for each of the company’s automotive-aftermarket offerings, including wheels and tires, high-end sound systems, custom interiors and body kits. Adding to the upscale ambiance is a coffee bar.
