Bryan Koehn joined the Association for Retail Environments’ Designers of Retail Environments and Merchandising Team (A.R.E. Dream Team). The Dream Team guides A.R.E.’s design-oriented programs. Koehn serves as director of design at architectural and engineering design firm Progressive AE (Grand Rapids, Mich.).
Cincinnati-based design firm FRCH Design Worldwide announced the addition of six new staff members: Paul Karalambo as project coordinator; Mark Demko as project coordinator in the hospitality studio; Leslie Rate and Admir Salihovic as job captains; Sharon Cormican as senior team leader; and Brian Sullivan as project architect in the specialty retail architecture studio.

Apple Seeds, a New York-based children’s play space, signed a 15-year lease for its second New York location. The new 7300-square-foot space includes a street and cellar level. The brand recently expanded to Mumbai, India; Mexico City; Dubai; and Abu Dhabi.
Dicks Sporting Goods Inc. (Pittsburgh) opened a store in Lexington Park, Md. The location is the retailer's 11th store in the state and its 461st nationwide.
The Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. LLC (Quincy, R.I.) opened its third Cranston, R.I., location. The new store, which will seek LEED certification in the coming months, was built with energy-efficient features, including New DuctSox (fabric duct) ventilation system; LED lights for accent lighting; ECM motors in the refrigerated fixtures and walk-in coolers; low-mercury, fluorescent lighting fixtures; an Energy Management System and HVAC systems; and low-flow fixtures in the bathrooms and prep areas. Fifty of the company’s stores has been awarded LEED certification.
Retail interior environments manufacturer T J Hale (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) purchased A.J. Pietsch, a Milwaukee-based millwork manufacturer. A.J. Pietsch manufacturing will move to Menomonee Falls.
AgiLight Inc. (San Antonio), manufacturer and marketer of sign lighting products, has entered into a national distribution agreement with N. Glantz & Son (Louisville, Ky.), an electrical and digital sign and graphics supplier, to expand AgiLight’s LED sign lighting product lines.

Commercial construction firm Englewood Construction (Chicago) has been tapped for six new projects throughout the Midwest, which are expected to be completed by the end of the year. The projects include the Children’s Creative Learning Center (CCLC) in Chicago; Advanced Auto Parts in Chicago; and Noodle & Co. in Madison, Wis., Pewaukee, Wis., Overland Park, Kan., and Olathe, Kan.

Lighting solutions company OSRAM (Danvers, Mass.) signed an agreement to increase its stake in Encelium Technologies (Teaneck, N.J.) from 15 percent to 100 percent. After closing, Encelium will become part of the OSRAM General Lighting – LMS organization.

Fixture manufacturer Stylmark Inc. (Minneapolis) has signed a licensing partnership with Versatrus (Perth, Ontario), manufacturer of a lightweight structural modular aluminum truss systems. The agreement allows Stylmark to manufacture and market FORtruss products to the entertainment, event and exhibit industries.
