Target May Start Serving Alcohol

Applied for liquor license at its upcoming Chicago store

Published

Target (Minneapolis) has applied for two liquor licenses for a new store it is planning to open next month in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood, reports USA Today.

One of the licenses would allow the retailer to sell alcohol that could be consumed within the store. The other license would allow it to sell packaged alcohol that customers would then take home with them. Neither license has yet been approved.

The store in question is planned to be one of Target’s smaller-format stores. The company did not provide any further details about the licenses or its plans to serve alcohol in-store.
