Will shutter doors in January 2013

York, Pa.-based The Bon-Ton Stores Inc. is closing its Carson Pirie Scott store in the River Oaks Mall, in Calumet City, Ill. The company decided not to renew the lease, which it acquired as part of the Northern Department Store Group acquisition in 2006.
The Bon-Ton Stores operates 272 department stores in 23 states in the Northeast, Midwest and upper Great Plains under the Bon-Ton, Bergner’s, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman, Herberger’s and Younkers nameplates and, in the Detroit, Michigan area, under the Parisian nameplate.
