The Yard House is known for its huge selection of beers on draft (more than 180; certification from the Guinness Book of World Records is pending, say its owners) -- so it's only fitting that its actual bar be a major focal point. The 60-ft.-long, 16-ft.-wide bar is made of maple and wood veneers including a special melamine-impregnated wood veneer that makes it impervious to moisture and frequent use. The oval-shaped fixture is surfaced with aluminum sheeting, and overhead, includes plenty of space for the yard and half-yard beer glasses that gave the establishment its name. A martini bar, showcases for logo merchandise and a reception area bar were also fabricated from the melamine-impregnated panels, maple and galvanized pipe for supports and accents.
